A Rusticus Garden Club Horticultural Committee Lecture presented by Thomas Woltz, Principal Nelson Byrd Woltz Landscape Architects. Click here to RSVP http://bit.ly/2y4BveS
Landscape bears witness to the marks that our species leaves on the earth—it is the repository of our bones, our stories, and the source of our sustenance. Based on in-depth research into a site’s cultural, ecological, and temporal context, NBW’s designs build meaningful connections between people and the land—intertwined ecological and cultural factors reveal what might be called an “ecology to culture continuum.” Thomas Woltz will discuss his work at Monticello, Hudson Yards, and Seven Pond Farms (Virginia). He will also talk about the interconnectivity of ecological systems and the importance of working with the complex biology in our land.
