History Travel Camp - The Museum Experience

August 7, 2017 9:00 am–5:00 pm

How do museums and collecting institutions decide what they will exhibit and how to tell their story? Explore the way museums, zoos, historic houses and other cultural sites develop and present their programs. History Travel Camp runs Monday-Friday, 9:00am to between 4:00 and 5:00pm (depending on the day’s destinations), for children entering 7th grade and up. $375/child. We offer a 10% discount for family level members of Friends of John Jay Homestead. Albie Sachs is a human rights activist from South Africa; leader of the African National Congress in exile; co-author of the South African Constitution; and one of the original Judges on the Constitutional Court, appointed by President Mandela.

Akhil Reed Amar is Sterling Professor of Law and Political Science at Yale University, where he teaches constitutional law in the College and the Law School and where he won the DeVane Medal, Yale's highest award for teaching excellence.

Reception and refreshments at 6:00pm, lecture at 7:00pm, optional dinner at The Barn at The Bedford Post Inn following the lecture.
