John Jay’s Bed Chamber is the only bed chamber that we can definitively connect to a person.  It will be furnished with his original bed, a desk that belonged to his one-time close companion, Robert Livingston, and a mix of other original Jay furnishings and period antiques. A print of his beloved wife, Sarah Jay, will hang in the room. Unfortunately, no document samples of wallpaper have been found on the second floor of Bedford House. This Van Cortlandt Rosette wallpaper, whose document sample was found in the Georgian style home of Frederick Van Cortlandt, in Bronx, NY,  was selected for John’s room as he was a direct relation of Van Cortlandt.
