Friends of John Jay Homestead are proud to offer a traveling exhibit produced by the Gilder Lehrman Institute, Declaration 1776: The Big Bang of Modern Democracy, that explores the seismic impact of the Declaration of Independence—what John Adams called “the most important event in the history of the world.” Through seven thematic panels, it follows the ideological, military, political, and civic ripples of 1776 across America and the world.
Each panel combines narrative text, primary sources, and powerful imagery to introduce diverse audiences—students, families, citizens—to the stories behind the founding of the United States. Designed for flexible display in schools, town halls, museums, and outdoor venues. Panels are free standing.
