The lot bordered by the brick cottage and prefabricated house on the south and the cow barn and carpenter’s shop / garage on the west was historically referred to as the “old orchard.” Rusticus Garden Club has replanted part of this lot with a new orchard. The trees are heritage breeds of apples and pears that are known to have been grown here by John Jay.
