Be an Object Detective – can you guess what today’s Mystery Object is?

Here are some questions to answer about the object:

Looking at this object, can you guess what material it is made of?

What shapes do you see when you look at this object?

This object is hollow and has a handle for carrying or holding things. What types of things do you think would go inside of it?

Do we use any objects like this today?

Yesterday’s Mystery Object was a Spigot.

This spigot is made of wood. A spigot is a tool that would let liquid flow out of a barrel, just like a faucet. Instead of opening the barrel to access the water, wine, or ale inside, a hole would be made in the side of the barrel for the spigot. By turning the handle on top of the spigot, the liquid could flow through a series of holes and liquid would come out. By turning it again, you can cut off the flow of liquid so that it stays in the barrel.
