On June 17, 1775, 1000 American rebels fought valiantly to secure a hill in Boston. Out-gunned by a British force twice their size, the militia was narrowly defeated after running out of ammunition. The Battle of Bunker Hill provided a much-needed morale boost and the first inclination that even though the battle was lost, the war might be winnable. Take a docent-led tour of John Jay’s Bedford House highlighting John Jay’s life at the outbreak of the American Revolution. Tours at 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, and 4pm. Regular admission fees apply.
